March 5 Homework
Students have their art due tomorrow. As well, they need their French test signed and returned. For math, students need to complete #1, 3, and 4 from page 384-385 in the textbook.

Homework for March 4
Students have been asked to complete number 2 and 3 on page 184 of the text for tomorrow. We discussed bias in graphs and data on page 182 and 183, and did question 1 together.

Option Trees
The students were working on creating option trees in problem solving today. The strategy may be used when presented by different options and trying to figure out how many types there are. We used the example of Dan, who wanted to get a new bike. His options were to buy a mountain bike or a BMX bike. He could get each in 4 different colours and with either racing stripes or flame stickers.
We figured out there would be 16 different types of bike he could buy.
The students then began to work on solving the following problem:
These problems are great for practise at home to help familiarize the students with this strategy.
