Science Test: Forces and Structures

There is a science test on Friday. Students have been asked to take home their notes and sheets we have taken up in class. The following are examples of what may be seen on the test:

- matching force terms with their meaning (see previous post with words)

- writing the type of force described or shown in examples

-describe the different types of bridges

-describe how a road cracks apart over a winter (making sure to tell how the forces affect it)

-describe how a boat made of metal can stay afloat, while a ball of metal will sink

- describe what can happen to buildings in areas with permafrost, how it can be prevented, and why this prevention helps.

-describe ways to create a strong and stable tower. Make sure to explain how/why your ideas help to create strength and stability.

Remember that all of this information revolves around your knowledge of the types of forces we have discussed in class from our first notes. Make sure to describe them in your answers to these last five questions.
